Senior Director of Software Engineering
As Senior Director of Software Engineering at the Central Texas HIE, Jarrod has extensive experience in data integration, with a significant portion dedicated to utilizing analytic data, responsible generative AI development, and advancing secure electronic data resources. He manages and mentors global engineering teams, focusing on overcoming interoperability challenges, secure data management, and ensuring quality control. His focus is transforming the HIE into a Health Data Utility Center, which involves creating high-level roadmaps, nurturing partner relationships, and bringing the HIE to FHIR standards to meet ONC requirements. His commitment, fueled by dedication to the community, is to promptly ensure Central Texans have access to high-quality care to ensure healthier lives.
A native New Yorker, Jarrod obtained a specialized degree in Computer Science. He attended Harvard University to continue his education in software engineering. As a guest lecturer and adjunct professor, Jarrod has taught at prestigious universities and is a certified instructor who has taught international clients. He has collaborated with Harvard University on high-priority applications. Previously led transformative software projects for high-profile clients, such as the FBI, the Department of Defense, and several state agencies, significantly enhancing operational efficiency through innovative technology. His collaborative work with high-level government and state agencies has involved designing and implementing customized software solutions that address unique operational challenges and strategic objectives.
