Connxus to Support CMS as an Aligned Data Network

Connxus Selected to Support CMS as an Aligned Data Network, Strengthening Texas’ Role in the National Health Technology Ecosystem

Austin-based HIE becomes a health information exchange in Texas designated as a CMS Aligned Network

Connxus, the nonprofit health information exchange (HIE) serving Central Texas, has been selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to participate as a CMS Aligned Network, supporting nationwide interoperability goals and patient-centered care. Connxus is among several health information exchanges across the Nation with this designation.

The CMS Aligned Network designation recognizes organizations with the technical capacity, governance, and experience needed to support secure, interoperable data exchange at scale. Aligned Networks play a critical role in enabling CMS initiatives that depend on trusted data infrastructure to improve patient access, reduce administrative burden, and support new models of care. As a CMS Aligned Network, Connxus is positioned to support CMS initiatives advancing across Texas, including the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), the ACCESS Model, MAHA Elevate, and other programs that rely on interoperable health data and cross-sector collaboration. Through this designation, Connxus will help enable scalable, standards-based data exchange that improves care coordination, expands patient access to health data, and supports innovation across providers, payers, community-based organizations, and technology partners.

“This designation reflects years of investment in secure infrastructure, interoperability, and collaboration across healthcare and community partners,” said Eliel Oliveira, MS, MBA, FAMIA, Chief Executive Officer of Connxus. “By supporting CMS as an Aligned Network, Connxus can help ensure that patients, providers, and communities across Texas have access to secure, coordinated, and meaningful health information, advancing better outcomes and a more seamless healthcare experience.”

CMS’ Health Technology Ecosystem is designed to bring together government, healthcare, and technology partners to modernize how health information is accessed, shared, and used. By leveraging Aligned Networks, CMS aims to accelerate adoption of interoperable solutions that improve care delivery while maintaining privacy, security, and patient trust.

Connxus previously pledged its commitment to CMS’ interoperability framework in the summer of 2025 and is now formally recognized as an Aligned Network based on its readiness to support implementation. With decades of experience supporting regional initiatives, Connxus serves as a bridge between national CMS priorities and on-the-ground execution across diverse healthcare and community environments.
